To connect to \"alternate\" p2p networks, you must first compile MLdonkey with the right options.

Since MLdonkey 2.02-devel, they're several separate cores available, and most notably \"mldonkey\" core now only contains the eDonkey and Overnet supports only.

The available cores are:

  • mldonkey -> eDonkey2000 and Overnet
  • mldc -> DirectConnect
  • mlgnut -> Gnutella/LimeWire
  • mlslsk -> SoulSeek
  • mlnap -> OpenNapster

mlnet -> all networks*

Since 2.02-8, they also bundle binaries (core + gui with communication via FIFO) to ease use of alternative networks (mldc+gui, mlslsk+gui, etc). _What a mess!_
