I made a lot of changes on this topic in 2.5.16u-4. Should I merge the changes in 28-branch?

Biggest changes are:
* remove of most walker_server options and replaced by a boolean walker_server option.
* Servers are now pinged once per hour and removed if they don't answer for three consecutive attempts.
* ask server every 5 minutes for sources for 20 downloads, pausing 20 minutes after one complete round

and a few minor changes.

@Amorphous: Maybe we should coordinate our efforts because after releasing 2-5-28-1
I will concentrate porting patches to 2-5-29. I would like to suggest that you work on
"the bug" and I try to port as many patches to 2-5-29 as possible. This means I will only
release patchpacks for 2-5-28 if important bugs are fixed.
@Knocker: This includes the patches you applied to 2-5-16u4.

@Amorphous:
The only question I have is from which version I should start.
Reasonable for me seems to go for vanilla 2-5-29, apply the GTK2 GUI patch which is a big
one, get a diff between 2-5-29 and your latest branch, put that stuff into 2-5-29 and then
work through the patchlist from release-2-5-28-1. This sound like work from scratch but
it feels save for me, what do you think about doing so?

BTW: Does anybody have edk-links to GPL'ed movies for hunting "the bug"?

Well, give 'Debian' or 'Knoppix' a try. It's not a movie, but you get a good collection of large files. And they're by definition GPL.

Route66 is a GPL'ed movie, don't have the de2k-link currently.

Another alternative might be Project Gutenberg.

... oh BTW, does anybody know if wikipedia or parts of it are downloadable?

ok i will first work on "the bug".

i would suggest we continue on my branch.

what do you think about droping cvs and officialy using the svn repo. for developement. (svn is much more usable than cvs.) i would then merge my branch to trunk.

i think the gui patch can wait until the rest of the patches (the core related ones) are integrated.

i have some more ideas for the continuing developement, perhaps i will write them down sometime later.

Ok, then you are doing this?

I just asked because I don't know who decides whether to drop an option or as in this case change it's meaning.

If you want to, yes. But my sentence was ment that if you post a patch
for 2-5-28-1 I will make a patchpack:

So I consider your patch an important bugfix Wink

Nobody added mldonkey to the list of Bittorrent clients there. So I just did it. Cool
