|
|
I installed MLdonkey 2.6.3 on my fresh Debian install. I added an IP so I could connect to it with mlMac, a GUI for Mac, over my LAN.
I started some downloads, saw the bars filling up as I checked on them throughout the day, and saw them disappear.
Now where are they? I searched the whole system. Also, there are no subfolders like "incoming" or "temp" next to the mlnet executable. And no config files. I remember on Windows there was a big pile of config files.
(I moved to Debian just so I could have an OS that worked better with MLdonkey for my download server.)
Did I do something wrong? Did I even "install" it? |

they are probably inside ~/.mldonkey
dont ask me why, becouse i wonder myself who and why would do such a thing as move place to have a lot of files/directories to HIDDEN dir ?
well.. and the worst possible thing is that i cant find option to change that:(
i've found some options in downloads.ini to set up incoming directory and such, but how to change .mldonkey default dir to something more normal?
(mldonkey is for downloading files, and if its run on server, then probably its files are not used on the same machine... so... usually people have to move those files. And most ftp clients doesnt have "show hidden" default on. I just dont understand it, i'm sure you can change it somehow, but there is nothing in FAQ about it. )
P.S. you can always set dirs in SECTION : Paths *) and set up them with full path, like /home/user/incoming
but you will still have other files inside .mldonkey and i really dont understand why. |

Oh, thank you! All of my downloads are there, and with the config files, I can get them to show up in a more convenient place from now on.
I wonder why they didn't show up when I searched... I thought I checked "find hidden files" at least one time. |

Here at MLDonkey its not RTFM, but RTFC (RTFChangelog)
| Quote: | 4155: Let MLDonkey create its data in $HOME/.mldonkey
Usage instructions:
* if the core is started in a directory where downloads.ini exists
this directory will be used, this is the same behaviour as before
* on Windows the current directory will always be used,
this is consistent with eMule
* on other systems $HOME/.mldonkey will be created and used,
this is consistent with eDonkey, aMule and Unix standards
* if variable MLDONKEY_DIR is used that directory has priority,
to simulate the behaviour without this patch use:
export MLDONKEY_DIR="." && ./mlnet |
BTW: On startup the core prints its working directory. _________________ Link overview and precompiled cores here: http://mldonkey.sourceforge.net/DownloadLinks |
