sorry for not reporting in the last days.

You have yet given precious feedback.
There is no hurry and I have fully automated the compilation, my only task is to release to rapidshare and copy/paste the link here.No big changes.

I think that in few weeks I'll try compiling a new ppc-qemu kernel (hard task) for etch and I'll try installing a debian-etch enviroment.
Then I'll surely need your precious feedback.

Update. No real changes, I have tried a new packaging procedure, I have not compressed various tarballs and compressed all the archive at once obtaining a littler archive.

hi again!

I didn't say anything lately as I've been on a trip and mldonkey has been working really well ^_^

Today I discovered a problem with a private tracker. Once a torrent is completed and left seeding, "active time" (all the time the torrent is seeding) isn't reported well to the tracker, actually only is reported when some upload happens.

This afternoon I've tried with enhanced-ctorrent (same tracker, same torrents) and every hour I keep seeding a torrent gets added to active time on the tracker (that's important as they reward seeding time leveling the ratio of torrent without leechers).

Are you back from Manga's homeworld? Wink
(I have luckly found your site about your fantastic Japanese journeys!Nice photos.)

There are few recent posts about mldonkey's BT behavours, I think that it is better to post about mis-behaviour/issues in the correct forum
http://mldonkey.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=8

You 'll hopefully find a similar thread to contribute into and is the best way in order to help mldonkey improvement and to get support from real developers. Very Happy

I have find out the time to upgrade the debian-powerpc to ETCH distribution.
I have done this update cause gcc-4.x.x is the best choice in order to compile new 2.6.x kernels and I think it is the best choice in order to compile ocaml 10.1 too.
I keep being unlucky with 2.6 kernel compilation but I have been successful with a 2.4.36 kernel Very Happy .
The brand new environment provides gcc-4 , ocaml 10.1 and libc-2.3.6.
I like to test the new mldonkey cores first to provide them as rock&stable.

Please, can anyone(expert) here try to use these cores? (Beta tester needed)
EXPERIMENTAL

The bundled libraries are also changed from sarge version to updated etch version (in case you have used LD_LIBRARY trick, you have to update them too)

I don't mind testing out for you but please use other file hosting site as rapidshare is inaccessible to me.

BTW, I compiled mine on Debian Etch using ocaml 3.10.1 and gcc 4.1.2 compiler.

Have you compiled directly on your box? What is your box brand/model exactly? (just curious)

Thanks for testing

I believed this is a common problem if your ISP made use of transparent proxy. I'm also having problem with Gigasize, keep saying "You're trying to download more than one file at a time". Why don't made use of Mediafire or Fileden?

Yes, I'm using PCI NAS-01G NAS which has similar hardware as the Allnet ALL6250.

Code:
Buildinfo
Version:       MLNet Multi-Network p2p client version 2.9.3.CVS
SCM version:   2008-02-21 15:27:41
Networks:      Global Shares Direct Connect FileTP BitTorrent Donkey (SUI)
Ocaml version: 3.10.1 - C compiler version: 4.1.2 - C++ compiler version: 4.1.2
Built on:      Linux ppc 2.4.36.1 (big endian) with glibc 2.3.6
Configure args:'--enable-batch' '--enable-directconnect' '--disable-fasttrack' '--enable-checks'
Features:      threads zlib-1.2.3 bzip2-1.0.3 gd(jpg/png-1.2.15) iconv(active) magic(inactive) check-bounds

Full core running fine with the bundled libraries, seems to load a lot faster than the one I compiled. Now I need to figure out what folder permission to change when using run_as_useruid parameter.

Will test out actual file download and the other cores and post the result here.
