The normal and minimal core seem to take much longer to load as compared to full and normal_gd. Ran some test on the download speed but was not happy with the result. Is there any specific torrent/site with lot of seeders and good download speed to test out?

Thanks for detailed feedback!
BT performance is usually a Mldonkey issue.Mldonkey is slow compared to other BT clients.(you have to be lucky with the tracker).
I think that you can try with isohunt, look for newest content with tons of seeders.

http://isohunt.com/

also mininova is a great site:
http://www.mininova.org/

I think that mldonkey gives its best with edonky module.

@asgard

I have noticed that in full buildinfo:
Quote:
magic(inactive)

This is quite strange cause I have tried to confgigure and make a statically linked executable.Have you disabled magic in other ways(arcane options)?

@developers
Have I to share libmagic1 too with other libraries or is libmagic statically linked with executable?

I left out the magic files when I recreate the MLDonkey working environment while testing the full core. These files are located in the /usr/share/file folder and has since been rectified.

FYI, the magic files consist of:
magic
magic.mgc
magic.mime
magic.mime.mgc

Status of libmagic support has three options:
- no-magic, either MLDonkey configure did not find libmagic headers or --disable-magic was used
- magic(inactive), MLDonkey was compiled with libmagic support but could not find the magic database at runtime. There is no need to supply libmagic.so with a statically compiled MLDonkey binary.
- magic(active), speaks for itself Wink

@asgard and spiralvoice
Thx
I think I'll try bundling magic database files in my library package too.

@asgard
You have chosen to recreate the mldonkey enviroment using bundled libraries with LD_LIBRARY trick or jail, which is a very good(the best) experiment, but sometimes things could work with your own OS libraries too.(I point this fact for completeness).

@fabtar, using the jail method allow me to recreate test environment and also because this is how MLD was setup on my NAS.

first post updated:
I have compiled 2.9.4 with my new etch enviroment.I have bundled more libraries with the cores.
Being my second ecth cores.. please give me feedback.
(Example: "Sarge cores have worked well, but these new cores fail, they suck! " Very Happy )

This is quite a good news.
QNAP System has decided to integrate Mldonkey on their boxes by providing a simple way to download and install the software via an integrated package management system : QPKG.

This should semplify a lot the installation on those boxes. Hoping other manufacters join this idea I like to notify this solution to all mldonkey's users.
This feature is actually avaiable on beta firmwares (accesible from forums) but will be avaiable on official firmwares in few weeks.

I suggest to qnap's users to look at this way of installing mldonkey cause it is well integrated.If you are a power user and you like particular features you can still look to my compiled cores in the stikies.

about QPKG:
http://www.qnap.com/faq_detail.asp?q_id=461
please note:
Code:

QPKG platform is currently available on TS-109/209/409 Turbo NAS series and will soon be available on the TS-101/201 series as well.

Dont work....

synology DS207

I ave try methode :
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/volume1/mldonkeylib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH ../volume1/mldonkey/mlnet

Core start but :
Quote:
The core therefore is unable to get eDonkey serverlists and loading
.torrent files via dllink from websites is also impossible.
If you are using MLDonkey in a chroot environment you should
consider reading this article to get DNS support back:
http://mldonkey.sourceforge.net/Chroot

Version 2.9.2 work but i'am lost source and can't find files, if you can help me.

Hi zimko,
quite strange.. powerpc architecture's users have always solved using my added libraries.

Question: Have you used the libraries bundled with my powerpc core? or are you using older libraries taken from another place/older core?

in case you are updating the core it is a good idea to update the libraries too.. sometimes I update the VM copilation enviroment Wink

No i ave use your library,but i am 'a stupid question' :
Why somme library is empty ?

if y replace my library (usr/lib) by your ,my system crashe.

And can you repost 2.9.2 cvs version ?

Because fabtars libs are not for use in /usr/lib, this *will* destroy
your system. You need to setup a chroot environment and copy the
libs into that chroot directory structure.
