In my opinion (not sure if it is true) the main difference between mldonkey and emule about speed of download is in the client id. Let me explain: I think that emule gives priority to another emule client in queue. So if we force mldonkey to be recognized as an emule client maybe we could speedup downloads. I've tried to download the same file at the same time with mldonkey and emule and effectively emule is faster (25kbps vs. ~50kbps). Both clients were just installed and with no shares.
Am I crazy? |

Clients can be distinguished by features and their corresponding behaviour.
Emule has no code to prioritize clients by brand.

This means cheating and will not be implemented. It will also not help
your speed problems.

MLDonkey does not fully support Kad1.
MLDonkey does not support Kad2.
MLDonkey does not support protocol obsufication.
Each one of these facts are enough reason for MLDonkey to download
slower than eMule. _________________ Link overview and precompiled cores here: http://mldonkey.sourceforge.net/DownloadLinks |

Ok now I understand. Do you know if and when Kad1/2 will be fully implemented?
BTW I love MlDonkey! |
