Hi all of you... it's a dam long time since I came here last...
The reason for this is mostly the new laws and contraints in some (?) contries of Europ... meaning the obligation to choose totally secure ways to P2P...
But I really love mlDonkey and use it from time to time on not to dangerous files, even if I'm now using mostly Pando and Stealthnet, and investigating also Ants, Freenet and some others...
So I continue to compile regularly the new versions of mlDonkey just to keep an eye on new developments...
Does someone know if the mlDonkey developers are aiming some day, to work on security… dunno: file encryption, anonymous roads and pathes and so on, even a minimum... like some others have tried to add on some apps, for instance on Azureus (not too succesfully yet speed wise!) that has now the possibility to be included into i2p network...
This really would be great ! |

Such stuff is beyond my coding capabilities, so the answer is no,
unless new coders show up and send working patches.
This is valid not only for your question but for most requested
features, like DHT for BT, Kad2, eMule encryption and so on. _________________ Link overview and precompiled cores here: http://mldonkey.sourceforge.net/DownloadLinks |

So, sorry spiralvoice if I did twist the knife a bit... but don't you think that for someone knowing allready as much as you do, having brought already the app at this state it would be feasable to learn some knew stuff ?... I mean, there are even models to look at and get inspired from…
You know, 6 years from now, I just saw a computer for the first time and didn't know the difference with the monitor, giving ones reference and make for the other...
and now I even wrote a manual for mac newbees and am able even, sometimes, to do some compiling (starting about 2 years ago under your direction !... )... and I'm well over 65...
The thing is that, seeing the direction taken by governements to help a hard as possible the big logos, I'm effraid many more people would turn toward safer means to exchange files... well, so did I! but probably not everyone will keep an eye on mlDonkey and return to it when the calm will come back... And this would be a shame, since it is a nice and courageous little app... |

This honour belongs to b8_bavard, Simon and many others who
initially created MLDonkey. They left the project many years ago
leaving pango, me and others providing bug fixes and small
feature enhancements. More than this is not possible due to
limited time and coding knowledge, at least on my part. _________________ Link overview and precompiled cores here: http://mldonkey.sourceforge.net/DownloadLinks |
