Hi,
I just installed mldonkey on an existing centos machine because i was tired of running torrent download on my vista laptop (it slows down everything and saturates the connections).
Then i start downloading a torrent with many seeds, and it starts of slow, i wait a bit and still slow, only 20 connections for a few torrent it's low (my max is at 500). then just to test i take one of the torrent and put it on utorrent :: voila much faster, 150 connections just for that one torrent.
So i really wonder, i always thought mldonkey was the best, now i have doubts. Anybody has experience the same ?

MLdonkey is a very good ed2k client but has a "not so cutting edge" BT implementation.
mldonkey lacks few BT features (PEX, DHT) and I have understood that communications between mldonkey and trackers need to be refined.
I use the mldonkey BT module in order to centralize downloads and tune bandwith but I don't bare about performace.
If centralizing downloads is not your objective and you need pure speed there are better performing clients for sure. _________________ ARM,ARMEL,MIPS,MIPSEL,POWERPC mldonkey cores: http://fabtar.ygrek.org.ua/ |

I suppose you have to ask to the utorrent forums http://forum.utorrent.com/
if you are asking bout the mldoneky's bt module, let's refine your question _________________ ARM,ARMEL,MIPS,MIPSEL,POWERPC mldonkey cores: http://fabtar.ygrek.org.ua/ |
