I assume that servers are only removed after 3 pings if update_server_list = true?
Can someone comment on this? |

I have no problems here with sancho 0.9.4-30 GTK-version.

No, I consider the server as dead if it doesn't respond after 3 times. Should I raise this number?
update_server_list is meant for getting new servers from other servers and clients. |

I'm using the 2.5.16v for a long while now and I'm very pleased. But the server removal problem appeared to even more critical than I thought.
The 2.5.16v is now up for nearly 24 days (23+23:1 and it cleared its server list several times. After about 1 week of uptime the serverlist was cleared from 134 to the 3 the core is still connected to. Did a 'servers server.met' and the game started over again. After a week the core was again back to 3 servers.
Do you remove the servers after 3 pings regardless of their collected points? Or what is this number in brackets directly after the name of 'vm'?
Can you please change update_server_list back to the original code (static serverlist)? Or please add a auto_remove_server or something. I need to look after my client now every few days. I did not need to do that before..
I want to maintain the serverlist for myself. Is it possible? |

Knoker ,is there a way to doa static server list like in emule???
Emuel has a great option to order conencting only to static server.
Mldonkey should have a simlar option: you can limit the conection to this (not deletable) static servers and enable connction to other servers only if all static servers are offline (relating t a sucess ratio??).
What do you think??is difficult to implement???
cheers |

Do you guys saw the new option "server_lifetime"?
It's a number representing server-pings before servers are removed. Set it to 100.000 and the servers shouldn't be removed anmore.

How can mldonkey distinguish between static and non-static servers?

No, that server_lifetime value was new to me, thanks!
Changed it to 100000 and will have a look at it!
Keep up the good work, 2.5.16v is the best release ever. I tried the 28, 29 and 30 fork - but everytime I came back to 16v!
Looking forward for another release!
bye

By using emule I have understood that "static server" is not a server with static ip, but simply is a "flag" indicating that this server is adeed to a set called "static" by the user.
I suppose it does it mean like set of servers "not erasable because preferred".
You can call them "preferred server".
There is an option to say to emule... Hey, connect only to static servers!!!
I hope to have not misundeestood the emule's options.
what do you think about? |

Could be interesting.
I didn't forget your suggestion in the new release. I just hadn't the time to implement it. I will see what I can do in this issue for next one. |

I like to do suggestions, I understand perfectly the lack of time and I think the feedback here has quite good level jet ... in emule's forum the developers don't reply to the messages(or very rare casue the big traffic).
I'm happy that this feature sounds good. |
