Fabtar,
Thanks for your very detail instructions , I can use mldonkey now.

Very Happy
I'm just curious.
Can you please write your freelink version?
How have you managed the mlnet core to work?: Have you used my libraries-package? or have the core worked flawless with your system libraries.
Thanks for feedback

Hi, Thanks

It works well on my linkstation. It seems to have better connection ability than the 2.9.2 version.

About solving locales problems with chinese and other languages:
for example:
_____.avi

this post could be useful:
http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=87&t=654&start=135

This is focused on qnap 109-209 but on toher boxes the problem could be tracked in a similar ways.
You need to install on your box the majority of locales mappings.
Perhaps in future realese I'll try to add locales data containted in deb files.
This 'll permit to power users to easily fix locales problem(when arises)

Nice to see the updated CVS. Will try it tonight.

About Chinese characters, simply set the locales to UTF8, will solve the problem. Laughing

@alanshu
Thanks for the tip, the problem is that, by not having a qnap box (yet), I have to collect solutions around.

P.s:
Perhaps your linkstation has a full-featured locales support.Qnap box perhaps has not added all locales or mappings or locales are placed in different place from debian's one.

This is quite a good news.
QNAP System has decided to integrate Mldonkey on their boxes by providing a simple way to download and install the software via an integrated package management system : QPKG.

This should semplify a lot the installation on those boxes. Hoping other manufacters join this idea I like to notify this solution to all mldonkey's users.
This feature is actually avaiable on beta firmwares (accesible from forums) but will be avaiable on official firmwares in few weeks.

I suggest to qnap's users to look at this way of installing mldonkey cause it is well integrated. If you are a power user and you like particular features you can still look to my compiled cores in the stikies.

about QPKG:

please note:
Code:

QPKG platform is currently available on TS-109/209/409 Turbo NAS series and will soon be available on the TS-101/201 series as well.

We are testing a patch which should fix SUI (secure identification) on few alternative architectures.
Please, users with mipsel's NAS should test these 2.95CVS cores, the first is a standard and stable, then try the new core in order to verify SUI reliability (please enable sui by options on both releases):
http://rapidshare.com/files/132594247/mlnetold
http://rapidshare.com/files/132592993/mlnetnew

This experimental cores ->should<- solve the SUI problem. Please test this cores enabling the SUID by options.
Looking at the file's sources from webinterface you have to read the SUI column.
When the "T"s are more than "F"s that means SUI is working well.
I need feedback in order to verify the patch effectiveness.
Thank in advance for feedbacks

Hello fabtar,
I just would like to inform you that I have installed (and used) successfully the previous version (not the one released on Jul. 27th) on a Maxtor Shared Storage NAS, running modified firmware OpenMSS 2.4.2.

It works great, no DNS problems, very fast.

I have test the newone, but I can find "T" in the SUI column, all of them are "F" ,and I have enable the SUI setting.
