Did you rename to ntx_libra.tgz as stated in the link?

Yes of course, I double checked it.

Keep getting this error message "Wrong IP" when trying to download your file. Please use other image hosting site like imageshack.us

Do you encounter the same error if you apply the firmware extension downloaded from Fantec? Not sure if this have something to do with the codepage used, try changing it to 437. You might also want to try updating using other web browser.

This is strange indeed as I have created FW extension (aka ntx_libra.tgz) for others using NAS model such as your and it worked without problem.

Don't mind me asking a noob question but did you enable the display of file extension under Windows Folder Options? If this is turn off, the filename might end up as ntx_libra.tgz.tgz and since the extension is hidden you might think it correct.

Yes, I do have standard to show system files and show the extensions Wink I am just lame in the Linux OSes.

What about my idea ? - to replace file in real ntx_libra I downloaded from the fantec page, - may I brick my fantec ? if there is a chance for brick, I will give up then :-/

The ntx_libra.tgz (FWE) file is just a gzip tarball containing files/programs that 'extend' the capability of the NAS. It's different from firmware and will not cause your NAS to brick. Without the ability to update non-fantec FWE, it would be impossible to enable other function like telnetd or ssh.

Can you do a dump of the source code for the update routine. Open up a new windows by clicking on the middle mouse button on the Update option. Copy and paste the cgi code and post here (use the Code tag).

Below is taken from PCI NAS-01G, basically the same code with slight variation on the filename verification. Try to redo the HTML part by turning off "Disable HTML in this post" to get a complete picture.

IMO, the entire coding is not well done up and many cgi code are actually hidden in the httpd (ie. webUI) process. I think there is a way to bypass the checking but sorry to say I'm a noob when come to web coding.

Code:
<HTML><HEAD>

Just thought of a easy method to update the mlnet binaries. Extract the mlnet file from the URL link and ftp into your NAS and replace it. I have not try it myself but don't see why it wouldn't work.

Hi
I tried to replace it, but the mlnet is read only (tried to kill mldonkey first), the attributes are "744" but cannot be changed Sad
