|
|
Hi!
I have been using aMule until some days ago - i use debian on a headless server, and i want to switch to mldonkey, so i installed it.
I control the daemons that i run through webmin, so, when i attempt to run mldonkey-server i get this message:
| Code: | Starting MLDonkey: mlnet.
MLDonkey: mlnet [ERROR] configuration file prevent mlnet to be started (use force-start).
|
But if i try to run mlnet with a ssh session, with a normal user, it just works properly.
As i said, i am not used to mldonkey's use, and i would really thank if anyone can give me some hunts on wath should i do.
I have searched in the man pages and looked around in the documentation on this page, but i did not really find wath i am looking for.
Thanks! |

I have a cron job which periodically(10minutes) checks for mldonkey process:
IN case a (rare) crash has happened, a new mldonkey session is automatically executed.
P.s: I'm not a daemon guru and I have never used webmin.. the problem is that by changin' the user, the position of configuration files is going to change.
You have to execute mldonkey with the same user ever.
For example I have a "mlnet" user for this sake. _________________ ARM,ARMEL,MIPS,MIPSEL,POWERPC mldonkey cores: http://fabtar.ygrek.org.ua/ |

Thanks for all your replyes
The point is that, when you install mldonkey, it automatically installs this startup script, but, if you attempt to run it, it shows an error and closes..... probably because there must be some way to say the daemon to run mldonkey using some user's configuration... the problem is that i dont quite know why. Anyway... i have been using it already doing the old trick of starting a new screen as a normal user and running mlnet...
It just seems to work, which is enough..... but i just keep wondering which would be the real use of that script.... |

| Debian by default prevents automatic starting of most network services until you configure them manually (this is quite a reasonable approach, as for me). See /etc/default/mldonkey-server |
