Could not make the hex magnet link work. Is it implemented in ML?
Piratebay shuts down trackers in a move to DHT - a move soon to be followed by others. Something that could prompt to search for a more up to date client than ML . This is not to mention that some trackers still ban ML .

DHT support is ready for testing, get it while it is hot from git.
Either download .tar.gz archive of the latest commit or use the patch against 3.0.6.
New options are BT-dht_port and BT-dht_bootstrap_nodes, also BT-use_trackers to switch off tracker requests and run DHT-only.
Logs are very verbose currently, PEX and magnet links are not supported.

Small comment about your patch:
Code:
# ocamlc -v
The Objective Caml compiler, version 3.10.1
Standard library directory: /usr/local/lib/ocaml

Quote:
File "tools/bt_dht_node.ml", line 44, characters 2-27:
Unbound value Printexc.record_backtrace

This function was added with Ocaml 3.11.0
